Velda F. Cruthis, age 89, of Greenville, IL passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Greenville Rehab and Nursing Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11 AM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday after 9 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to The V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Velda was born October 26, 1928 in Sorento, IL to Theodore and Mabel (Himes) Kranefield. She married Vince E. Cruthis on April 10, 1948. He died December 6, 2017. She is survived by her sons William R. Cruthis of Rock Bridge, IL and James V. "Jim" Cruthis and his wife Rose of Greenville, IL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister Mildred Halford.
She grew up in Sorento before she and her husband moved north of Greenville. She worked as an operator and later as a manager for Southwestern Bell. She was a member of The V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and also the Greenville First United Methodist Church.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Remember that Jesus resurrected the dead while he was on earth, and he promised to do this on a large scale in the future. John 5:28, 29 says, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."
