  4. I work with Scott at Vandalia Correction Center since Jan 2012 He was a great guy to work with. He was always there to help his fellow officers and you knew if anything was to happen he would be there and have your back. He never complained if he had a bad assignment but did his job. I never heard him ever say anything bad or gossip about others. I remember when his son was Born and how proud he was. He was a great husband father soldier corrections officer and friend. I feel very proud and blessed to have worked with and known him . My prayers go out to his family at this sad time.

  5. I was very sad to hear of your loss. I worked with Scott at Vandalia prior to my transfer to Graham. He was a great guy and truly a hero. He will be missed. My families thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  8. Beyond the world as we know it, there is a place where we will all meet again – where we never have to say good-bye. With deepest sympathy and love at this difficult time.

  9. As a high school classmate of Scott's dad, Paul McClean, the news was heartbreaking! Scott made a remarkable committment to the defense of our nation and we should all be thankful for his dedicated service. Our prayers are with the McClean family now and in the future. God bless America & Scott McClean!

  10. Scott was one of the best officers I ever knew, and I will miss him for the rest of my life. He always had a smile on his face every morning, and he was the first with a joke to bring you back down. The world is a little less special now that he is no longer in it. RIP sir

  11. My deepest sympathies to CPT McClean's wife and son, Max. I have a 9 month old and have no idea how I would take care of her without my husband. My heart broke when I heard this horrific news. I know we have never met but here is my phone number so maybe we could have play dates and I could tell you some funny stories about Scott from the reserves side, and maybe one day tell them to Max as well. 217 766 4271.

  12. My deepest sympathies for the loss of a great man. I did serve with him in Afghanistan and know that he was dedicated to his service and had very strong beliefs that helped to guide him through his life. He had accomplished so much in his life from what I can see and what i know. Continue to keep your heads up and keep hold of your fond memories. Be proud of his selfless service to our county numerous times and for the man he was and tried to be.
