Ruth Alice Cripe, age 85, of Nashville, IL formerly of Pleasant Mound, IL passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 11 AM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Noffsinger Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday, October 3, 2015 after 9 AM at the funeral home. Ruth was born on March 22, 1930 in Nashville, IL to Charles C. "Bud" and Minnie A (Huge) Hampton. She married Robert E. Cripe on September 18, 1951 in Nashville, IL. He died September 9, 2009. She is survived by his sisters in-law Joyce Wehrle and Carol Bristow, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Barbara J. Kaufman, three brothers-in-law, Harry Wehrle, Sam Cripe, and Charles Kaufman. Ruth worked for Illinois Bell Phone Company for 15 years, and at Southwestern Bell in Palm Beach, FL while her husband was in the Air Force. She worked for 35 years at The Greenville First National Bank. She and her husband lived in Pleasant Mound for 35 years. She moved to Nashville 5 years ago. She was a lovely, loving person with a devout faith in God. Memorial contributions are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville, IL or Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, IL.
