Reda Jean Lappe, age 79, of rural Mulberry Grove, IL passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at her home. In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 19, 2016 from 4-8 at Young Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Seagraves Cemetery.

Reda was born April 7, 1937 in Covington, IL to Ernest and Sophia (Foster) Brandt. She married Robert John-Adolph Lappe on September 18, 1954 in Breese, IL. He died June 2, 1992.
She is survived by her children Robert Lappe and his wife Sandra of Vandalia, IL, Roy Lappe and his wife Kathy of Greenville, IL, Deb Marti and her husband Glen of Greenville, IL, Donna Johnson and her husband Gary R. of Smithboro, IL, Rusty Lappe and his wife Brenda of Breese, IL, Rex Lappe and his wife Jennifer of Greenville, IL, and Dawn Hedrick and her husband Will of Vandalia, IL. She is also survived by two brothers David Brandt of Sandoval, IL and Jimmy Brandt and his wife Elsie of Posey, IL. along with fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son Rockie Lappe, a brother Bill Brandt and a sister Anna Pearl Brandt in infancy.

She grew up in the Covington and Posey areas. After her marriage she and her husband lived south of Greenville and moved to rural Mulberry Grove in 1964. She had worked as an aide at Hillview Manor Nursing Home and also Fair Oaks Nursing
