Obituary for Lovell M. Kesner

Lovell M. Kesner, age 90, of Greenville, IL passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital, Chesterfield, MO. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11 AM at The Greenville First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery, Pocahontas, IL. Friends may call Sunday, October 11, 2015 from 5-7 PM at The Greenville First United Methodist Church. Lovell was born November 27, 1924 in Marissa, IL to Dewey and Irene (Nagel) Brasel. She married James D. Kesner on June 17, 1949 in Marrissa, IL. He died February 1, 2006. She is survived by her daughter Kim (Don) Lugge, of Pocahontas, IL., her son Kent Kesner, of Greenville, her granddaughter Sabryna (Josh) Fahrney, and her grandson Simon (Katy) Lugge. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister Ruth Brasel. Lovell grew up in Marissa, IL. She graduated from Asbury College in Willmore, KY. She taught briefly at Greenville College and then taught music at Pocahontas school. She gave piano lessons in her home for many years. She also served as Choir and Music Director at The Greenville First United Methodist Church for many years. Lovell was an avid sports fan and was a regular attendee at Greenville Comets games. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Comets Sports Boosters.
