Kathryn M. "Kay" Roland passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Helia Healthcare in Greenville, IL. Private family services will be held at Skyline Memorial Park in Monee, IL. Kay is survived by her son Larry and his wife Paulette Roland of Manteno, IL. eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, and nine nieces and newphews. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam Roland, her daughter Lorelei Weinrich and her brother Rocco Goglia. Kay grew up in Chicago and graduated from McKinley High School. She served as Greenville City Clerk for several years. She also worked at the Greenville College Bookstore and served as secretary to the the college president. She was a member of the Greenville First Christian Church and was well known for her Italian cooking and playing bridge.

I will miss her.
We just had some Maid Rites last night from the Greenville Oh shop. We always add a ltitle more mustard and I like a ltitle more pepper. I also noticed their buns seem to taste just a ltitle sweet. I don't know what brand they use. We've noticed they just don't seem to taste like they did when we were younger, but I suppose at 73 and 75 our taste buds are a ltitle off. LOL But we still buy a bag full when we get up that way, they're good warmed in the microwave, but you have to be careful, too much warming and the bun gets too hard.
