Joyce C. Young age 79, of Greenville, IL passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Greenville Regional Hospital. She is survived by her husband S. Douglas Young, her children Alan (Mary Ellen) Young and Susan (Brad) Sugg, her brother Vernon Childerson, her grandchildren Beth (John David) Spencer, Megan (Craig) Henschen, Allison Young, B. Ryan Sugg, and Brennan Sugg, and her great grandchildren Emma and Ethan Henschen. She was born on April 15, 1951 in Keyesport to Byron "Barney" and B. Marie (Busch) Childerson. She married S. Douglas Young on December 30, 1951 in Greenville, IL. She grew up in the Pocahontas area and graduated from Pocahontas High School. After her her husband returned home from the army they lived they for a while in Carbondale, IL while her husband attended college. They lived for several years in Mt. Vernon, IL and moved back to Greenville in 1960. She went to work at The Bond County ASCS office until she retired in 1994. She was an active member of the Greenville First United Methodist Church where she was a member of The Lydia Circle and the church choir. Memorial contributions are suggested to The American Lung Association or The Greenville First United Methodist Church.

  4. We are grieving with the whole family in the loss of our dear sister-in- law.She has been a wonderful wife to our brother, Doug and a beloved mom and grandmother to her grandchildren! She adored her great grandchildren as well. She was always seeking to make others feel loved and cared for. We will miss her so much!
