John Henry Obermark, formerly of Greenville was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Mr. Obermark was born December 7, 1922 in Greenville, Illinois to August and Emma (Priesmeyer) Obermark. He married Vema Ohren on July 29, 1950 and she survives her husband, John. Other survivors include a daughter Linda Endsley (Reggie) of Shelby, North Carolina, a son, Eugene Obermark (Rebecca) and a daughter Trudy Connell (James) both of Belleview. Mr. Obermark is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father and mother as well as four brothers, August, Arnold, Edwin and Herman; and two sisters Elfrieda and Louise. Prior to relocating to Marion County Florida, Mr. Obermark owned a dairy farm in rural Bond County. After moving to Marion County in 1965 he was employed as a repairman for New Holland hay equipment. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Greenville and a United States Army veteran having served in the European theater during The Second World War.

  1. so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr Obermark, I remember helping him put up hay every year and eating great meals at his home with his lovely family, those are great memories of very good people and a very nice man.
