Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I have so many fond memories of both of your parents especially this picture and very saddened to learn of his passing but know he is in a better place with Aunt Thelma, Mom & Pop Ke, as well as my mom. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family at this time.

  2. So sorry to hear of your loss. Was very fond of both of your parents. I loved his story of how he unknowingly ate a cat during WW2. He was a great teacher, mentor and godly human.

  3. Rick and Jim, My prayers are with you and your families on your Dad's passing. A great man and a great teacher! With prayers, Susan Class of '69

  4. Our most sincere condolences on your loss. He was a wonderful teacher and mentor, and will always have a special place in the hearts of those he touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

  5. My sincere condolences to the family. I always enjoyed seeing and speaking with Mr. Keaster and his wife when they taught at Greenville. They were both greatly respected by so many including myself. God has truly received one of the finest when Mr. K went home to Glory. Jim and Rick. May God continue to bless each of you and your families. Shalom.

  6. Our condolences to the entire family. I'm sorry i didn't hear of this sooner, I'm actually in the hospital after back surgery. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.

  7. My freshman year at GHS was Mr. K.'s first year of teaching in Greenville. What a wonderful teacher! I will always remember his explanation/rendition of Hamlet. He had us all in stitches and we knew it was going to be a fun year in English class, which it was. Not only a gifted teacher, but a Godly man and great role model. He touched many lives. My condolences to the family. Sandi Heston Rinderer, GHS class of '65

  8. Mr. Keaster was my transformational teacher. I had written little before entering his freshman English class. He gave me the tools but more importantly the inspiration to write. We became not just student, teacher but also close friends. We continued to correspond well after high school. He even graded my first national slick magazine article (Since you want to know, I got an A+). My heart goes out to James III, Rick, and all his family and friends who loved him as I did.

  9. I will always remember Mr. Keister as a wonderful English teacher with a super sense of humor! Denise Taylor (Wasiila, Alaska)

  10. I just want to personally thank everyone for their very nice comments. They dramatically echo the things we have heard over the years when we encounter those who had Dad as a teacher at GHS. On behalf of the family, I can say that your thoughts for him and for us are very much appreciated.

  11. As I said on Facebook, I was a colleague of your dad's for nearly 20 years at the High School. He was a wonderful teacher and a man with a great sense of humor. I am so sorry for your loss. But happy that he has gone home.

  12. I had Mr. Keaster for Freshman English. (1963-64). He made that class extra special as a result of his wonderful expertise as a teacher. When he announced to the class that President Kennedy had been shot and killed, he said that we would never forget where we were when we heard that news. He was so right. I was in Mr. Keaster's freshman English class at GHS.
