Erma C. Bauman, age 95, of Greenville passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Helia Healthcare in Greenville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 1 PM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Montrose Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, April 5, 2017 after 11 AM at Young Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Greenville Free Methodist Church.

Erma was born October 9, 1921 in Loogootee, IL to Frank M. and Hulda Katherine (Gesell) Wodtke. She married John P. Bauman on July 12, 1946 in Greenville, IL. He died May 11, 1995. She is survived by her son John Bauman and his wife Mary M., of Highland, IL, her daughter Mary Bauman of Greenville, her siblings Arthur Wodtke of Greenville, Emilie Culthrell of Taylor Springs, IL, Verna Priest of Tallahassee, FL, and Wilma Vollkmar of Donnellson, IL. She is also survived by a grandson Matthew Louis of Highland, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, and three sisters, Fran Sexton, Florence Piker, and Rosemary Gibson.

She grew up in Loogootee and attended Loogootee High School. After her marriage she and her husband lived in Greenville. She worked at Western Cartridge Company during WW II but spent most of her life as a homemaker.
