Donald R. Cooper

Donald R. Cooper, age 77, of Mulberry Grove, IL passed away Wednesday, January4, 2012 at The Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab Center. Don is survived by his sons Gary Cooper of O'Fallon, IL., Larry Cooper of Debary, Fl, and Don (Chris) Cooper of Edwardsville, IL., his daughters Kim (Dan) Feldmann of Carlyle, IL, and Joann Presnell of Effingham, IL. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan, and sisters Normagene Scott and Virginia Cooper in infancy. Don enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 2, 1951 and served for 20 years retiring as a Master Sergeant on January 1, 1972. In January of 1977 he went to work for the United States Postal Service in Ramsey, IL where he worked as a Postal Clerk. On March 7, 1980 he was appointed Postmaster in Mulberry Grove, IL. where he worked until retirement. He was a member of The Mulberry Grove United Methodist Church, Greenville, V.F.W. Post #1377, and was a past member of The Mulberry Grove Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, woodworking and playing pinochle with his children and grandchildren.
