Dean O. Scott, age 83, of Greenville passed away at Fair Oaks Nursing Home. Dean was born in Reno, Illinois to Cicero O. and Hattie Bell (Brown) Scott. He married Leotis Leihser on August 19, 1949 and they later divorced. He then married Dorothe Williams Thacker. She died November 12, 1992. Dean is survived by his son Richard "Dick" Scott of Springfield, IL., his step-daughter Joy Bohle of Greenville, IL, his step-son Jon Thacker, of Greenville, IL., his brother William D. (Sandy) Scott of Greenville, his granddaughter Nancy (Zach) Sweet, and his grandson Chris (Amanda) Bohle. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Francis L Scott and Everett H. Scott and also a brother and sister in infancy adn a step-son Jim Thacker. He grew up in Reno and attended Reno School. He joined the U.S. Army on February 15, 1946 and was stationed in Japan. After serving his country he returned home and went to work for the railroad in Brownstown for 13 years. He was a Prairie Farms distributor in Greenville for several years and then worked at Scott's Package Store until he retired. He was a member of Greenville V.F.W. Post #1377.
