Carolyn L. Spradling, age 76, of Greenville, IL passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Greenville Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 11 AM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Payne Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 9-11 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Tamalco Christian Church and/or Payne Cemetery.


Carolyn was born September 14, 1942 at the home place in rural Keyesport, Bond County to Albert A. (Dutch) Barth and Grace (Dickson) Barth. She married Donald Spradling, later divorcing. She is survived by her brothers: Albert ‘Dick' (Joyce) Barth of Highland, IL; Louis (Carol) Barth of Greenville, IL; Lee Roy (Mary) Barth of Keyesport, IL. Sisters: Betty Enloe of Keyesport, IL; Marilyn Barth of Greenville, IL; Maureen Frueh of Greenville, IL; sister-in-law, Shirley Barth of Sorento, IL; also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents; a brother, Carl Barth; and a brother-in-law, Harry Dale Enloe.


She grew up and lived her entire life in Bond County. She graduated Greenville High School in 1960, worked for Bond County Title for 30 years as an abstractor, as well as, Abstract and Title of Edwardsville, IL. She retired from First National Bank where she worked as a teller. She was a member of the Tamalco Christian Church and the Greenville Optomists Club. She liked to dance, especially line dancing. Loved working in her flowers, was an avid cardinals fan and enjoyed Greenville Comets sports.

  3. You all are in my prayers on the loss of Carolyn. Had lots of contact with her when she was an abstractor. She was good at her job and nice to work with. We are in Arizona other wise I would be at the visitation.
