Carole Bristow, age 81, of Hookdale, IL passed away Friday, July 31, 2020 at HSHS Holy Family Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at 11 AM at Maxey Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, August 3, 2020 from 4-8 PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Please wear a mask and maintain social distancing in the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or to Maxey Cemetery.
Carole was born June 29, 1939 in Mulberry Grove, IL to Henry and Lois (Roach) Steiner. She married Sam Cripe and he preceded her in death. She then married Harold L. Bristow on August 24, 1996 in Girard, IL. She is survived by her husband Harold L. Bristow, her daughters; Mary Ann (Randy) Cripe Bloemker of Pleasant Mound, IL, Nancy (Dave Sessions) Cripe of Vandalia, IL, Pam (Kevin) Rockey of Franklin, IN, and Karen Waugh of Greenville, IL. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Steiner of Mulberry Grove, IL, her brother Henry “Louis” (Doris) Steiner of Mulberry Grove, IL, eleven grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Edward Steiner and David Steiner.
She grew up south of Mulberry Grove, IL and graduated from Mulberry High School. She worked as waitress for a time. She worked at Dr Goggin’s Mulberry Grove Office and then became the office manager for Greenville Veterinary Clinic. She was member of the Mulberry Grove Lunch Bunch and also a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She always enjoyed sewing, baking, bowling.
