Brenda L. Kistler, age 58, of Vandalia and formerly of Greenville passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at her home. The will be a memorial service on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11 AM at The Greenville First Christian Church. Friends may call Thursday after 10 AM at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.

Brenda was born January 16, 1958 in East St. Louis, IL to Harold Dean and Imogene L. (Hill) Koonce. She is survived by her children Monica Lape and her husband Rodney of Vandalia, IL and Philip Joshu of Decatur, IL. She is also survived by her sister Connie Willman and her husband Bill of Greenville, her brothers Dan Willis and his wife Cheryl of Mulberry Grove, IL and Larry Koonce and his wife Janie of Greenville. She is also survived by her grandson Riley Lape.


She grew up in Greenville attended Greenville schools. She worked most of her life with her family at Spic and Span Cleaners. She also worked as waitress at The Depot in Vandalia and also in housekeeping at Fayette County Hospital.
