Blanche Ruby Kirkham

Blanche R. Kirkham, age 93 of Greenville passed away at Helia Healthcare in Greenville. She is survived by her husband Marshal L. Kirkham who she married on March 2, 1946 in Highland, IL. She is also survived by three sons Dennis Kirkham and his wife Jo of Greenville, Robert Kirkman and his wife Lois of Alamosa, CO, and Edward Kirkman and his wife Tana of Sherwood, OR., her sister Bea Halford of Edwardsville, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister Edith Robinette. Blanche graduated from Greenville College in 1942 where she received a B.S. in Music Education. She taught English at Central School from 1942 to 1948. She taught private piano lessons from 1948 to 1968. She then taught third grade at Smithboro from 1968 to 1976. She also worked summers at Grand Teton National Park from 1976 to 1978 as a housekeeping supervisor. She was a member of The Bond County Retired Teachers Association, Illinois Retired Teachers Association, The Browning Club, Greenville Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a past president of the Greenville American Legion Auxiliary. Memorial contributions are suggested to Greenville Regional Hospital or Bond County Hospice
