Wayne H. Skinner, age 86, of rural Pocahontas, IL passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11 AM at Young Funeral Home. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. For those who desire memorial contributions are suggested to The Pocahontas United Methodist Church or Bond County Hospice.

Wayne was born August 8, 1931 in Tamalco, IL to Fred M. and Etta (Hunter) Skinner. He married Joyce A. Redding on July 24, 1953 in Greenville, IL. He is survived by his wife Joyce of Pocahontas, IL, his daughters; Cynthia Anne Rice of Camp Wood, TX and Charlotte Jean Eckart of Houston, TX; his brothers Melvin Skinner of Vandalia, IL and Larry Skinner of Keyesport, along with seven grandchildren Travis Thacker, Charles Thacker, Heather Lovatto, Courtney Ashlock, April Kunkel, Nicholas Roesselet, and Sabrina Roesselet. He is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Loyd Skinner, a sister Loretta Skinner, and a nephew Jim Skinner.

He grew up in the Tamalco area and attended Columbus School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After the service he went to work as a union carpenter. He was a fifty year member of Local #377. He enjoyed horseback trail riding and was affiliated with the Methodist Faith.
